Tech Tool Evaluation

These are the two websites I evaluated.

1. storyboardthat.com 
2. http://www.easybib.com/

1. storyboardthat.com is mainly about making comics and story boards. Its a simple way to turn a text into a story here. You can copy and paste your text from word to the bubble, and you can change their expressions. It looks like a pretty cool website. It can be used for a lot of things in school, work and even free time. Three things that i like about it are:

• The webpage has no adds and no pop-ups.
• You can change the font of the text bubbles and the size of the letter, unlike other comic pages.
• It can be used to make school work, homework for college and even in your free time when you are really bored. it gives you something to do. 

But, like all the websites, there has to be something you dont like or that you would improve, which makes you wonder if you can use it or not. Here are some things I disagree with:

• There arent enough variety of places to choose from, its all places that are monotomus. 
• I dont like the characters that they have. They are or in black and white, or doodles, or office people. they should add color kids to the equation. The characters dont have actions, they are always the same, which makes the comic look boring-er.
• I didnt like the display of the page. it looks boring and not interesting. I would add more color to it, but without adds to bother you. 

This webpage can be used for many things involving school. Here are some of them:

• It can help you to learn stuff by watching the comic. it can be this sort of study guide or flash cards for people who work better with visuals. 
• It can also help you if you have a school project involving creativity. It can also be used for group projects.

2. Easybib is  a website to validate your research information. it is an amazing website for projects and essays, which can be used perfectly for school. Its an easy to manage webpage and it is actually useful. It can help you with pretty much anything you need. There are a lot of things I liked from this webpage, and here are some of them:

• It tells you if a webpage is credible
• It saves your bibliography in alphabetical order, which no other page does, which is incredible.
• You can put your topic of research on the research bar and it tells you how valid the website is and how much of the topic it has.

It was hard to find flaws about this website because its pretty much the student dream to get credible and valid information, but here they are:

• This webpage includes adds and pop-ups, which are the things that everyone wants to avoid.
• I dont like the fact that you have to pay to register, and it only gives you a free trial. It should be free for atleast a year. 
• It would be a better website if it also had a mobil version, so that you can use it on your phone. Like an app or something, that should also be free. 

This page is incredible for school, and it can help with everything involving school and homework. Here are some things i think that could help:

• It can help you to have credible information on essays and projects so that you can get a much better grade involving info. 
• It helps you to track your bibliography for essays and projects, so that teachers know what pages you used for it. 
• It can also help you with APA form of information. In high school, teachers demand this things to have in the project as data and credibility given to it. 

Git

I currently have no idea on what this topic is about. What I would guess would be something to do with hacking or programs, but im not really sure if this is it. In this blog post i will search for and ekplain what are information bubbles. I hope you like it! :)

The questions that i will mainly search for will be:
1. what is GIT?
2. what is it useful for?
3. Why is GIT important for our use of technology?

Answers:

• According to here, it says that git is a website used to store files called BLOBs, which are huge amount of files with large amount. They also call it trees, which has little folders that are called subtrees. It saves it and stores each one of the files in their appropriate file that there is.

• According to this youtube video, it says that git can store any files, and you dont need connectivity to enter, so you dont need any software or any internet connection to access your files. It also lets other people contribute to your document with grammar connections, color changes, and many other things so that your project gets a better grade. This works like a coding system, just like codeacademy.com, which is a webpage where we learn to code.

• This video is manely a tutorial about git. it shows you all the commands and uses of this page. it explains it quickly and effectively, which makes it much better and easier to understand. it gives you a main idea of the page and it teaches you how to use the actual git website. If you watch this video, you will have a lot more knowledge about git and it would be easier for you to use it. 

• This here is the actual webpage of git, which shows you download git and many other things. here it says that git is not like other coding file websites, because it uses simple commands (ex. $ git add computerworld) and not very complex and weird onse like other exporting programs using coding have. this is a completelt free program that can work for Window's, Mac and Linux, If you actually want to us git, i  tell you to enter here, because its th only reliable source you can download it, unlike softonic (unreliable downloading source for anything) or something like that. 

• This video shows who would use git and an easier to understand video of what git does. It shows mainly who can do it and for what it works for. It says that it is mainly used to see what people edit in your program. it is mainly recommended to use if you are familiar to coding, or atleast youre not afraid of it. I highly recomend this video so that you understand what it does. This is the first and most important video you need to see before the others above. 

Summary:

I think that git is useful for my life because it helps me to see who edits my work with/without my knowledge, it shows when was it edited, what time, what did he do and who did the editing. It helps me to see if anyone changes any of my documents and it will help my to get a better grade if he/she does good corrections. It also helps me to learn much more about coding and many other things.

One question i still have would be why does this have to do with general logics of the computer? I have no more questions.

Today I'm mainly going to work on my project, in which I'm planning to finish by today or next class. My goals for this class are:
-to have atleast 5 gifs done
-to start my blog about my projec

1.This link is on how to make screenvideos. It  shows you how to do it and a downloading link to have it on your computer. It is completely free and high quality. You can have a video with or without music and voice, and it is actually very easy! it is cool and great and it makes you have a screen video. Click Here

2. This link is a video about how to make gifs without Photoshop or Gimp, which is way easier because it doesnt have that much steps, and when your done it apears on the screen. It is great if you dont want to last alot of time watching the video and looking again in case you did something wrong. Click Here

3. This link is very useful because it teaches you how to do a gif incase you have a mac. It teaches you how to do a gif using one of the most known apps that the mac brings, iMovie, and it teaches you how to do it simple and easy, without many steps (Its a little hard to understand him but its a great video) Click Here

4. This link is on how to make gifs with Photoshop CS4, which is a newer version of the photoshop that I use, but it still works greatly for a peron who has a later version on photoshop, and if you have CS5 or CS6 you can search for easy videos on youtube if you need one. Click Here

What i learned this class was to make gifs from different programs, which was pretty much amazing. I liked learning different ways of making this project more interesting and cool. Next week im planning to start to make gifs and it will be cool.

Description: This page helps you print work of any website, without the need of including adds. For example, you have to print a document for school, and the webpage is really good but it has way to much adds for you to print it. You enter printwhatyoulike.com and you edit the webpage so that is print-friendly. You can download it to have print what you like on your browser, or just enter the website and put the link in it. This webpage helps saving the environment, because it doesnt print adds you dont want, or pictures you dont need, and it decreases the amount of paper wasted.

Steps:
1. copy the link of the website you need, and paste it on the browser search bar.

2. This will automatically take you to a picture of the document, here you have to click on one of the paragraphs:

3. this paragraph will be highlighted and a bunch of tools will appear, here you have to click on the option that says "Select More" to select the rest of the document, then you will click isolate, to mkake the document be by itself

4. After this, you have to select the adds, and then click select more to select the rest of the adds.

5. After this, you will click remove, which will make the adds dissapear.

6. You will do this more times until all the adds are gone, and it will look like this.

7. You will click wide, and the document would be wider. You can change the font and the size with the tool bar.

8. Ta Da! its finished and ready to print.

I agree/disagree:

1. I agree that the internet is taking over the world because you see people walking down the street with their phones, and using iPads instead of notebooks.
2. I agree that this place is becoming a virtual world, and that most of the time we are online or thinking about being online because we are constantly staring at our phones even to just look at the time
3. I agree that the internet is making people that are close be far appart, like in different worlds because Im sitting with my family and I see my parents and my siblings texting on their phones, and sadly, me too.
4. Its like an addiction, and i agree with that, you need it all times for example, I cant live without my phone in my pocket, and I get panic attacks.
5. I disagree that internet users can be called geeks because everyone uses computers, and its not necesarily for studyingt, and geeks normally study.
6. i agree that the world has changed from the past 25 years, but i disagree the fact that its a bad thing. I think that this is a good thing, because its making us think more, and develop things that people haven't developed before.
7. i agree that the students and people get distracted a lot, which makes your grades and objectives less important because of the focus of some other things. For example, I get distracted a lot. I write a paragraph and then enter to tumblr or twitter, which are huge distractions.
8. I agree that multitasking is not normal with the brain, and that its making people become lousy. I agree because I see people being lousy when they are doing many things, and people get tired a lot.
9. I disagree that multitasking is making people dumber. Multitasking is making us use our brains more, and develop things we hadn't developed before. We are doing things we have never done before.
10. I agree that when you turn off your computer, the software wont get mad, the person on the other side will. I think this because people always want to use internet, and because the world might hit you like a bomb with an email to do homework or a certain task that you need to do.
11. I agree with the fact that we use more than 50 hours of technology a week because I use my phone ALL the time, also my computer when I get home, just like everyone else.
12. I agree that google makes us smarter because we are constantly searching things, which makes us more intelligent with every topic we search. I think this because in the past week I leaned atleast 20 useful and unuseful things that we are able to learn online.
13. I agree that there is more risk in texting and driving than drunk driving because I see on the news that the car crashes and dead or injured people are caused by texting.
14. I disagree with our addiction with VIDEO GAMES. I think that we are addicted more with youtube and texting, that in video games. I think that i have an addiction with online websites, just like tumblr and twitter, not video games like minecraft or FIFA 12.
15. I agree that video games can kill you because you stop eating, drinking, and even paying attention. My sister gets onto her playstation for hours, without even coming to dinner or doing something at all.
16. I agree with the fact that internet is an addiction, because I see my addiction and peoples addiction on the internet, with websites and connections with people you have never met before.
17. I disagree that internet is a disease, i think that is more an addiction, or a phenomenon, because internet doesnt make you go to the doctor, or the hospital.
18. I disagree that the people play ALL the time during the weekends, most people, or normal people have a social life, hangout with real life friends and family.
19. I agree with the fact that the internet is making us have an innablity to speak and socialize with others because you see families with computers and iPhones completely quiet, with no talk, just silence.
20. I agree that the computers can cause hearing and ocular complications because I had an addiction to the internet and now I have ocular problems.
21. I disagree with the fact that the internet is ONLY a good thing, I think that its both good and bad, computers are helping us to do homework and helps us with things we didnt understand with real life explenations from teachers or people in general.
22. I agree with the fact that people didnt know that the internet would change the world. How could people know? the internet was a great impact, first created by the NASA, and then used by the world.
23. I disagree with the fact that the internet shrinks your capacity to think. It makes you expand it, not only your capacity to think, but your capacity to expand and get new ideas and opinions from people all over the world.
24. I disagree with the fact that students should learn to use the internet at the same time as reading at writing, because the reading is is more important, just like writing and spelling, internet is not that important. I learned by writing first, which is the best thing that a person can teach you.
25. I find it true that thru generations, internet becomes easier and more natural to use the internet, because my generation knows way more than the past generation, and i bet that the generation next to mine knows way more of technology than I do.
26. I disagree that the virtual world is more important than reality because reality is where you LIVE, where you explore, and where things are actually happening. But virtual world is FALSE, they can kill you and you revive. That just doesnt happen.

the Cloud

Actually, right now (before I do the research) I don't know anything about this "the Cloud". It sounds alot like iCloud of mac, but I'm not sure if its true or not. I guess and hope that this is what I think and not something else.

Some questions I would like to know are:
-What is "the Cloud"?
-What is it for?
-What can I do to learn how to manage the Cloud (tutorials from youtube, google, etc)

So, mainly the things I learned in this amount of time are:

• It is a program that lets you see information in any computer or device.
• Important webpages like Facebook, Amazon, Twitter, Google Docs and Gmail use the Cloud.
• The Cloud runs with something called "collective virtual computer" that is the thing that lets you access everything from other computers. 
• The Cloud allows you to download apps for all the computer softwares, not just windows or mac.
• The Cloud is used with, what the website calls it, "layers". There is the front end and back end. 
• The front end layer is the layer that you interact with.
• The back end layer is the layer that runs the website.
• This software changed our lives, even without us knowing about it. 

i havent quite understood this Cloud, but another thing I understood is that the cloud runs important websites like Facebook, Amazon, Twitter, Google Docs and Gmail. The cloud allows you to see your information from different computers or devices, and lets you use them like if you where in the same computer. Unlike other webpages that dont run with the Cloud, this one has collective virtual computer, which lets you access it on any computer, not just on cetain computers. Like the website says "it is a Cloud of information". There is some applications that can only be run in windows or only in mac, but the cloud allows you to run it everywhere. The Cloud has two layers. The front end and the back end. The front end is the layer that you interact with, for example when you access your account to Facebook or Google, you are using the front end of the layer. The back end is the layer that allows the website to run, like the electricity cables. I also saw that most of the people use the cloud without them noticing, which I find quite normal because probably we don't know what software we are using, even if it is so important. One of the questions I made, actually the last one, I was wrong, because its not a game with tutorials, its something that everyone of us uses everyday, like for example, right now, me, by using blogger (Google) I'm using the front end layer of the Cloud, and the tsoftware that runs the website, is in the other layer (back end layer). 

Google Day 1

Today's Three Goals:

1. Learn how to make GIFs using different applications
2. Youtube video downloader links.
3. How does applications works?

Info I learned:
- There is an app named gimp, which you can use easily to make GIFs from youtube videos. GIMP is an application that does pretty much the same thing as photoshop, but is much easier to use and its completely free to download. I've used this app before because photoshop costs alot of money. Here is a link I found that will help me. Click here to see the video.

-Photoshop CS3 is another great way to make gifs from youtube videos, but unlike GIMP, I've never used this app before, so it will be a little harder for me to get a hang of the application. Here is a link I found that wll help me to make gifs. Click here to see the video

-I entered youtube and searched for a video tutorial about the same topics that I'm using with the 2 apps I found that will be easier. Here are the Videos: GIMP and Photoshop CS3

- I saw that to make gifs from youtube videos, you first need to find a trustworthy youtube downloader that downloads AND converts youtube videos to mp4, because thats the format I would use. RealPlayer dowloads videos but the app only downloads youtube videos from mp4, so here is the video converter I found and will hopefully use to download my gifs. Click here to see the link

Next class I will try to make new gifs using photoshop and make a blog about my videos.

Google 20%

I would like to be able to master Creating gifs. I find it very interesting to make moving pictures from videos or from movies. I would like to make gifs of landscapes, clips, movies, etc. I would like to learn how to do this things using photoshop or any other available source that will help me do this.

I would present my project doing a website, or a video of how i created my project. I would film my screen and then show how i did it step by step. I would do a blog, mainly on tumblr or on here to show all the gifs I could make with captions or without captions. I would make a brief explanation on why I did this gif and how I did it using the programs I used.
